The process requires two padders or wash boxes and dry cans following the curing oven, which ideally are set up to maintain a continuous process. The first padder or wash box contains the required amount of "Hydritex" RF and enough alkali to maintain a pH 10 that insures against loss of sodium borohydride through hydrolysis. The second padder or wash box merely contains enough acid to neutralize the alkali before drying. The acid used appears to be immaterial. The fabric is then dried in the cans. |
